Doctors Care Physician Receives FAA Certification To Provide Flight Physicals for Pilots

Doctors Care is pleased to announce Elaine Baxley, MD, MPH, has been designated an Aeromedical Examiner, accredited to perform Class I, III and III medical exams for all pilots at the Doctors Care’s Wateree location in Lugoff, South Carolina.
Dr. Baxley, a former Army National Guard flight surgeon, a licensed pilot and recipient of the Army’s senior flight surgeon badge, has been performing Class II and III air flight physicals (for air transport and recreational pilots) since 1995. She recently received the additional training and accreditation from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to perform Class I air flight physicals for commercial pilots. Dr. Baxley received her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina and is board certified in emergency medicine.
“All pilots can now be accommodated in our office,” said Dr. Baxley. “Doctors Care is providing this higher level of service to offer more convenience for pilots’ needs. Any day I am here, pilots can come in with or without an appointment if they find out they need a flight physical.”
Dr. Baxley sees patients each Tuesday through Thursday, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at Doctors Care’s Wateree location in Lugoff, South Carolina. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 803-438-9759.
